About: The Guro people of central Ivory Coast often use mask during their traditional Zaouli dance for celebrations. The dance is believed to increase the productivity of a village that it is performed in. The mask features almond shaped eyes, round foreheads, sculpted nose and a small mouth with sprouting lips. The hairdo is often carved in elaborate geometrical patterns, surmounted by horns or a totem animal. The mask are normally colorful and coated with natural dyes.
